Victron 24V to 12V Orion 24/12-25A Non-Isolated IP20 DC-DC Converter

Victron 24V to 12V Orion 24/12-25A Non-Isolated IP20 DC-DC Converter

Professional-Grade DC-DC Conversion for Demanding Mobile and Off-Grid Systems

Engineered for reliability in the toughest environments, the Victron Orion 24/12-25A DC-DC converter delivers clean, stable power conversion with industry-leading efficiency. Whether you’re stepping voltage down from 24V to 12V, this non-isolated converter ensures your sensitive electronics and battery banks receive precisely regulated power, reducing the risk of voltage drop and equipment malfunction common with lower-grade alternatives.

Unlike generic converters that struggle with fluctuating input voltages, the Orion maintains consistent output even under variable loads, making it the preferred choice for professional installers and system integrators across Australia. Its robust design and advanced protection features safeguard your investment, providing peace of mind for critical applications where power stability is non-negotiable.

Advanced Power Conversion Technology

At the core of the Orion is a high-frequency switchmode design that achieves up to 96% conversion efficiency, minimising wasted energy and heat generation. This not only reduces thermal stress on the unit but also preserves precious battery capacity in off-grid setups. The result is cooler operation, longer service life, and more usable power for your loads.

With an input voltage range of 18-35V, the converter handles the wide voltage swings typical of alternator charging and battery discharge cycles without interruption. An intelligent under-voltage shutdown protects your source battery from deep discharge, automatically restarting when voltage recovers to a safe level.

Key Features

• High Efficiency up to 96% reduces energy loss and heat buildup for reliable long-term operation
• Wide Input Voltage Range (18-35V) accommodates real-world voltage fluctuations without performance drop
• Continuous Output Current of 25A powers demanding loads with headroom for surges
• Compact IP20 Aluminium Enclosure durable and lightweight, with integrated mounting points for secure installation
• Protection Against Under-Voltage, Over-Temperature, and Short Circuit safeguards both the converter and connected equipment
• Remote On-Off Capability enables system-level control without high-current switching
• Parallel Connection Support scale output current by linking multiple units for larger systems
• Adjustable Output Voltage fine-tune voltage to match specific battery chemistries or load requirements

Built for Australian Conditions

From the corrugations of the Outback to the corrosive salt air of coastal waters, the Orion is built to endure. Its anodised aluminium chassis resists corrosion while acting as an effective heat sink. The IP20 rating suits protected installations inside vehicles, vessels, and equipment enclosures, where it is shielded from direct weather but still benefits from passive or active cooling.

All DC connections are engineered for low resistance and high current handling, using Faston tabs 6.3 mm terminals that accept appropriately sized lugs for minimal voltage drop. This attention to detail ensures maximum power transfer and reduces the risk of hot connections that plague inferior products.

Applications

The Orion 24/12-25A converter excels wherever reliable DC voltage conversion is required:

• Marine and Boating power 12V electronics from a 24V house bank, or charge a 12V starter battery from a 24V alternator
• Recreational Vehicles and Caravans run 12V appliances from a 24V system, or maintain auxiliary batteries while driving
• Off-Grid Solar Systems interface between different battery voltages or power 12V equipment from a 24V battery bank
• Industrial and Mobile Plant provide stable voltage for control systems, communication gear, and monitoring equipment
• Emergency Services and Fleet Vehicles ensure critical 12V loads remain operational regardless of vehicle voltage
