Integration Notes & Hardware Guidance

  • Power Supply Use a stable 3.3V rail within the 2.97V to 3.6V range and reserve at least 500mA for wireless peak current.
  • Ripple Control Ai-Thinker recommends LDO power where possible; if DC-DC is used, keep ripple within 30mV and reserve dynamic response capacitance.
  • Antenna Layout Place the module at the edge of the host PCB or hollow out the host board near the antenna area for better RF performance.
  • Antenna Keepout Keep copper, metal parts, batteries, shielding cans, and tall components away from the onboard PCB antenna area.
  • Boot Pin Review GPIO2 is used as Bootstrap; confirm its default state and external circuit before production.
  • Interface Planning Confirm required USB, UART, SPI, I2C, I2S, PWM, ADC, and GPIO functions before final pin assignment.
  • IO Protection Add 10 to 100 series resistors on IO lines where appropriate and reserve ESD protection near exposed terminals.
  • Production Handling Treat the module as ESD-sensitive and follow MSL level 3 storage and baking requirements before reflow soldering.
  • Firmware Path The Ai-M62 series supports universal AT commands for quick deployment and also supports secondary development workflows.
