Ai-Thinker Ra-01SCH LLCC68 LoRa 803-930MHz IPEX Module

Ai-Thinker Ra-01SCH LLCC68 LoRa 803-930MHz IPEX Module

The Ai-Thinker Ra-01SCH is a compact LoRa wireless communication module based on the Semtech LLCC68 transceiver. It is positioned for long-distance spread-spectrum communication in the 803MHz to 930MHz range, providing a practical RF module option for embedded IoT devices that need low-power sub-GHz connectivity.

The official Ra-01SCH documentation lists LoRa, FSK, GFSK, MSK, GMSK, and OOK modulation support, SPI half-duplex communication, up to +22dBm transmit power, receive sensitivity down to -129dBm, and support for spreading factors SF5 through SF11. This SKU uses an IPEX antenna connector for external antenna installation and enclosure-level RF validation.

Technical Specifications

Integration Notes & Hardware Guidance

• Power Supply Use a stable 3.3V rail within the 2.7V to 3.6V range and reserve more than 200mA supply capacity.
• Ripple Control Prefer clean LDO power where possible; if DC-DC is used, keep ripple low and reserve dynamic response capacitance.
• SPI Routing Keep SPI and control traces short, clean, and away from switching-power nodes to reduce RF and digital noise coupling.
• Antenna Connection Use a matched IPEX antenna for the selected frequency band and verify antenna placement inside the final enclosure.
• Regional Frequency Configure frequency, bandwidth, spreading factor, and output power according to local radio regulations.
• No-Load Protection Do not operate the RF output without a suitable antenna or 50 load during debugging.
• Host Firmware Ensure the host MCU handles LLCC68 radio configuration, packet settings, SPI transfers, and interrupt events correctly.
• ESD Handling Treat the module as an electrostatic-sensitive RF device during soldering, test, and assembly.
• Range Validation Test the antenna, enclosure, link budget, and RF settings in the final product form before deployment.

FAQ

Q: Which chip does Ra-01SCH use?
A: Ra-01SCH uses the Semtech LLCC68 LoRa transceiver.

Q: What frequency range does this module support?
A: The official documentation lists 803MHz to 930MHz. Final operation must comply with the allowed band in the target region.

Q: What antenna connection does this SKU use?
A: This SKU is the IPEX version, so it is intended for use with a compatible external antenna.

Q: Is Ra-01SCH a LoRaWAN module?
A: Ra-01SCH is a LoRa transceiver module. LoRaWAN requires a compatible host stack, network setup, and regional configuration.

Q: What interface does the host MCU use?
A: The module uses half-duplex SPI for radio communication and exposes related control and interrupt signals through its module pins.

Q: What supply voltage should I use?
A: Use 3.3V typical supply within the listed 2.7V to 3.6V range.

Q: How can I improve link distance?
A: Use a matched antenna, clean RF layout, legal transmit power, proper LoRa parameters, and validate performance in the final enclosure.
