Audient ID4 Mk II USB Audio Interface

Improve recordings with a console inspired mic pre

The iD4 uses the same analog mic preamp design found in the ASP8024-HE studio console. This circuit is fully discrete and engineered to keep noise and distortion low, so your recordings stay clean even when gain is pushed.

A maximum of 58 dB of gain supports a wide range of microphones. Spoken word projects and vocal sessions benefit from the gentle analog character that smooths transients without masking detail. The interface also provides complete 48 V phantom power from USB, giving condenser microphones the voltage they need for consistent output. This makes the iD4 suitable for anything from vocal tracking to delicate acoustic instruments with no external power supply required.

Hear more with 32 bit conversion and wide dynamic range

Accurate conversion is central to any recording setup. The iD4 uses advanced 32 bit AD/DA converters that keep your audio intact during recording and playback. A 126 dB dynamic range on the digital to analog path and 120 dB on the analog to digital path give you a wide window into your mixes. This makes tasks like tightening timing, balancing harmonies and checking ambience levels easier.

Small issues that may hide on lesser interfaces become clear, which supports better mix decisions. Working at up to 24-bit 96 kHz, sessions stay smooth and compatible with common project formats across most DAWs. This level of detail is helpful for producers shaping dense arrangements and creators handling voice recordings.

Shape guitar parts and monitor with simple controls

The JFET instrument input is designed to replicate the feel of plugging into a valve amplifier. When recording guitar or bass directly, this input provides a more familiar response for your playing style. It also supplies the right tonal foundation for amp simulation plugins.

The monitor mix knob blends the direct input signal and the DAW return, giving you a latency free feed while you perform. This avoids the distracting delay that can occur when tracking through software. A clear front panel layout keeps your workflow quick. You can adjust input gain, set monitoring levels and mute speakers with physical controls that sit close at hand, which helps when moving between ideas and full takes.

Work flexibly with dual headphones, loopback and portable power

The iD4 is designed for use in small studios, shared spaces and portable setups. Its USB 3.0 bus powered design removes the need for an external supply, so you can connect it to a laptop or iOS device and start recording on the spot. Dual headphone outputs support both jack and mini jack connections, making it easy for two people to listen at once.

The loopback mixer makes the interface useful for streamers, teachers and content creators. You can capture system audio, record calls or route audio to live broadcasts alongside your microphone signal. This keeps your setup tidy because you do not need extra software to combine sources. An all metal shell protects the iD4 during daily use and travel. It arrives with a software bundle that includes creative tools and Cubase LE, plus a three year warranty for added confidence during long term use.
