BMS Current Sensor Shunt 200A 50mV

Precision 200A Shunt for Battery Management Systems

Accurate Current Sensing for Reliable Energy Monitoring

The BMS Current Sensor Shunt 200A 50mV is a high-precision, base-mounted shunt designed to provide accurate current measurement in battery management systems. With a rated accuracy of 0.25% and a low resistance of 0.00025 , this shunt ensures minimal voltage drop and precise data for monitoring charge and discharge cycles. Its manganin sensing element offers excellent long-term stability and low temperature coefficient, making it ideal for demanding applications where consistent performance is critical.

Engineered for integration with battery monitors, energy meters, and BMS controllers, this 200A / 50mV shunt converts high current into a proportional millivolt signal. This allows your monitoring equipment to calculate amp-hours, state of charge, and power consumption with confidence. Whether you’re building a lithium battery pack, upgrading a solar storage system, or maintaining industrial equipment, this shunt delivers the measurement integrity needed for safe and efficient operation.

Built for Demanding Environments

Constructed with brass terminal posts and 3/8″-16 (Approx. M10) stud terminals, this shunt accommodates heavy-duty lugs up to 4/0 AWG (approx. 95mm). The robust base-mounted design simplifies installation in enclosures, busbars, or panel boards. It operates reliably across a wide temperature range from -40 to +60C, ensuring performance in both freezing and high-heat conditions. The recommended torque range of 14-15 ft-lbs (19.0-20.3 Nm) helps maintain secure, low-resistance connections over time.

Unlike generic shunts that may drift or corrode, this unit’s manganin element and brass hardware resist oxidation and thermal stress. This reduces the risk of inaccurate readings that could lead to overcharging, deep discharging, or unbalanced cellscommon problems in poorly monitored battery banks.

Key Features

• 0.25% accuracy for precise current measurement
• Low 0.00025 resistance minimises power loss and heat
• Manganin sensing element for stable, drift-free performance
• Brass terminals and 3/8″-16 (Approx. M10) studs suit heavy-gauge cables
• Wide operating range: -40 to +60C
• Base-mounted design for secure, permanent installation

Applications

This shunt is suitable for a variety of DC power systems, including:

• Lithium and lead-acid battery banks with BMS integration
• Solar charge controller and inverter monitoring
• Marine, RV, and off-grid energy systems
• Industrial battery backup and UPS systems
• Electric vehicle and traction battery packs

For optimal accuracy, pair this shunt with a compatible 50mV meter or BMS module. Note that the 200A rating is the maximum continuous current; typical de-rating factors apply for sustained high loads and elevated temperatures.
