Exotronic 350A Red On Off Battery Switch

Exotronic 350A Single Circuit ON-OFF Battery Switch

Reliable High-Current Isolation for Marine and Automotive Electrical Systems

The Exotronic 350A ON-OFF battery switch provides a robust and dependable method for isolating a single battery bank from a single load group. Engineered for demanding environments, this switch is an essential component for managing high-current DC circuits in marine vessels, recreational vehicles, and off-grid power systems. With a continuous current rating of 350 amps and a peak rating of 600 amps for up to 5 minutes, it handles substantial inrush currents from engine starters and heavy auxiliary loads without compromising performance or safety.

Unlike generic switches that may fail under sustained high loads or in corrosive environments, the Exotronic battery switch is built with durability in mind. Its IP66-rated sealed housing protects internal contacts from dust, moisture, and salt spray, making it suitable for installation in engine compartments, exposed deck areas, and coastal environments. The ignition-protected design adds an extra layer of safety, allowing use in petrol engine spaces where flammable vapours may be present.

Key Features

• 350A continuous rating with 600A peak (5 min) for demanding engine start and high-load scenarios
• IP66 weatherproof construction resists water, dust, and salt corrosion for long-term reliability
• Ignition protected for safe installation in petrol engine compartments
• 3/8″-16 (Approx. M10) stud terminals accept heavy-duty lugs up to 4/0 AWG (approx. 95mm) for secure, low-resistance connections
• Compact footprint (98 x 98 x 80 mm) with recessed mounting holes for flexible installation
• Clear ON-OFF position indicators for quick visual confirmation of circuit status
• Ergonomic rotary actuator allows easy operation even with wet or gloved hands

Built for Harsh Australian Conditions

Marine and off-grid environments demand components that can withstand vibration, temperature extremes, and corrosive elements. The Exotronic 350A switch features a rugged, UV-stabilised housing and stainless steel hardware that resists rust and degradation. The fully sealed design prevents internal corrosion, a common failure point in lesser switches, ensuring consistent performance over years of service. Whether you’re navigating coastal waters or traversing dusty outback tracks, this switch maintains reliable electrical isolation when you need it most.

Simple Installation, Secure Connections

Designed for straightforward integration, the switch includes recessed mounting feet that allow surface mounting on panels, bulkheads, or battery boxes. The large stud terminals accommodate heavy-gauge battery cables, minimising voltage drop and heat buildup under load. The rotary knob provides a positive, tactile switching action, reducing the risk of accidental operation. For added safety, the terminals are recessed to help prevent short circuits during installation and maintenance.

Applications

This single-circuit ON-OFF switch is ideal for isolating a single battery bank in a variety of setups:

• Marine vessels: inboard petrol or diesel engines, trolling motors, house battery isolation
• Recreational vehicles: auxiliary battery disconnect for caravans, camper trailers, and motorhomes
• Off-grid systems: solar battery banks, backup power systems, remote equipment
• Automotive: secondary battery isolation in 4WDs, trucks, and work vehicles
• Industrial: emergency stop isolation for DC machinery and equipment
