Exotronic Ekrano/Cerbo GX 6mm Slim Temperature Sensor

Precision Temperature Sensing for Victron Cerbo GX and Ekrano GX Systems

Compact 6mm Probe for Accurate Battery and Environmental Monitoring

The Exotronic 6mm Slim Temperature Sensor delivers reliable, high-accuracy temperature data to your Victron Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX device, enabling optimised charging and system protection. Its slender 6mm (approx. 1/4 inch) diameter stainless steel probe and 40mm length allow installation in confined spaces where standard sensors cannot fit, such as between battery cells, inside cable conduits, or through small bulkhead openings.

Unlike generic thermistors that may drift or fail under load, this sensor uses a robust, sealed construction rated for continuous operation from -40C to 100C. It provides the consistent feedback needed for temperature-compensated charging, helping to extend battery life and prevent thermal runaway in lithium banks. The pre-terminated 5-metre cable with ferrules plugs directly into the Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX temperature input terminals, eliminating the need for soldering or additional connectors.

Why Temperature Sensing Matters

Victron GX devices use temperature data to adjust charge voltages, trigger alarms, and activate relays. Without an accurate sensor, your system may overcharge in hot conditions or undercharge in cold weather, reducing battery lifespan and performance. The Exotronic sensor ensures your charger or inverter/charger responds correctly to real-time thermal conditions, whether you are managing an off-grid solar installation, a marine power system, or a caravan battery setup.

Key Benefits

• Ultra-slim 6mm probe fits tight mounting locations for discreet, professional installations
• Stainless steel sensor housing resists corrosion in marine and humid environments
• 5-metre cable with pre-installed ferrules simplifies connection to Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX terminals
• Wide -40C to 100C operating range covers extreme climates and engine room conditions
• Plug-and-play compatibility with Victron GX devices, no configuration required
• Accurate, stable readings support temperature-compensated charging and system safety

Designed for Demanding Applications

This sensor is built to withstand the vibration, temperature swings, and moisture common in mobile and remote installations. Use it to monitor:

• Lithium or lead-acid battery banks in RVs, caravans, and campervans
• Engine rooms and battery compartments on boats and yachts
• Off-grid solar cabins and remote telemetry sites
• Industrial backup power systems requiring precise thermal management

For installations where the cable length exceeds requirements, the lead can be trimmed and re-ferruled to maintain a clean layout. The slim probe also suits through-hole mounting in panels or enclosures, giving you flexibility in sensor placement.

Reliable Alternative to OEM Sensors

The Exotronic temperature sensor matches the electrical characteristics expected by Victron GX devices, providing a dependable substitute for the original sensor. Its compact form factor often allows better contact with the measurement surface, improving response time and accuracy compared to bulkier probes.

Whether you are commissioning a new system or replacing a failed sensor, this unit helps maintain the precision your energy management system requires.
