Hellermann Tyton Pre-Insulated Terminal Yellow Ring Lug M4 Hole

Hellermann Tyton Pre-Insulated Yellow Ring Lug M4 Hole: Reliable Double Grip Termination for 4-6 mm Cables

Engineered for High-Vibration Environments

The Hellermann Tyton Pre-Insulated Yellow Ring Lug M4 Hole is a professional-grade terminal designed to deliver secure, long-lasting connections in demanding electrical applications. Featuring a double grip crimp design, this ring lug provides superior mechanical strength and electrical conductivity, making it an ideal choice for installations subject to vibration, movement, or thermal cycling. Whether you’re working on automotive, marine, or industrial control panels, this terminal ensures your wiring remains intact and reliable.

Unlike standard single-crimp terminals, the double grip mechanism secures both the conductor and the insulation, reducing the risk of wire pull-out and fatigue failure. This is particularly critical in mobile equipment, engine bays, and machinery where constant vibration can compromise lesser connections.

Precision Manufacturing for Consistent Performance

Hellermann Tyton employs a three-piece manufacturing process that guarantees dimensional accuracy and repeatable crimp quality. The seamless copper barrel is annealed to optimise ductility, preventing cracking during crimping, while the flared entry facilitates easy wire insertion. The colour-coded yellow PVC insulation allows instant identification of the 4-6 mm conductor size range, streamlining assembly and reducing errors on the production line or in the field.

The insulation is rated for continuous operation at +75 C, providing reliable protection in moderate-temperature environments. With a maximum voltage rating of 600 V and a current capacity of 48 A, this terminal is suited to a wide range of low-voltage power and signal circuits. Note typical de-rating factors apply based on installation conditions and ambient temperature.

Applications Where Reliability Matters

This ring lug is engineered for professionals who demand dependable terminations in challenging conditions. Typical use cases include:

• Automotive and marine wiring resists vibration and corrosion in engine compartments and bilge areas
• Industrial control panels maintains secure connections despite thermal expansion and contraction
• Renewable energy systems ideal for solar combiner boxes, battery interconnects, and inverter wiring
• Caravan and RV electrical systems ensures long-term reliability on the road
• General low-voltage power distribution from switchboards to machinery terminations

Why Choose Hellermann Tyton Double Grip Terminals?

In critical electrical systems, a failed termination can lead to downtime, equipment damage, or safety hazards. The Hellermann Tyton Double Grip range is designed to mitigate these risks by providing a more robust mechanical and electrical connection than conventional single-crimp terminals. The additional insulation support prevents conductor flexing at the crimp point, a common failure mode in high-vibration settings. By choosing a terminal that meets stringent manufacturing standards, you reduce the likelihood of intermittent faults and improve overall system integrity.

For installers, the time saved through easy wire insertion and clear colour coding translates to faster, more accurate assembly. The compatibility with standard crimping tools, such as the recommended HYYT7, ensures a professional result without specialised equipment.
