M5Stack Thermal Camera 2 Unit M5-U149 MLX90640 Infrared Thermal Imaging Sensor

Description

M5Stack Thermal Camera 2 Unit M5-U149 is a compact thermal imaging unit built around the MLX90640 infrared array sensor and an onboard ESP32-PICO-D4 MCU. The M5-U149 module captures thermal data at 32 x 24 resolution, supports I2C communication, and delivers a wide 110 degrees x 75 degrees field of view for non-contact temperature monitoring, thermal inspection, and embedded sensing projects.

Because M5-U149 combines a thermal sensor with local data processing, the M5Stack Thermal Camera 2 Unit can handle temperature acquisition, average, maximum, and minimum temperature readout, local data caching, and high or low temperature alarm workflows. The MLX90640 thermal camera supports a measurement range from -40 degrees C to 300 degrees C, making the M5Stack Thermal Camera 2 Unit M5-U149 suitable for smart monitoring, industrial diagnostics, equipment inspection, and infrared temperature visualization.

The M5Stack Thermal Camera 2 Unit also integrates a buzzer, RGB indicator, function button, and reset button in a small unit form factor with a Grove HY2.0-4P connector. For developers building thermal imaging or abnormal temperature alarm systems, M5-U149 offers a practical MLX90640 thermal camera platform that works with Arduino and UIFlow while staying easy to integrate into larger M5Stack or custom I2C systems.
