Simpson PBS66HDG 6×6 Hot-Dip Galvanized Standoff Post Base

The PBS is designed to provide a secure connection between a post (or column) and concrete in projects including decks, patio covers and other top-supported structures. These post bases are elevated 1″ to avoid contact of the wood post with standing water to help prevent rot at the post end.

Key Features

• Provides a 1″ standoff between post and concrete that meets code requirements
• Embeds in wet concrete before the concrete has cured and is designed to install flush with the concrete surface
• Embossment in the vertical straps provides increased strength
• Optional fastening with either nails or bolts

Installation:

• Fasteners required. (14) 0.162″ x 3-1/2″ Nails or (2) 1/2″ Bolts
• Post bases do not provide adequate resistance to prevent members from rotating about the base and therefore are not recommended for non-top-supported installations (such as fences or unbraced carports).
• Embed into wet concrete, ensuring complete consolidation, up to the bottom of the 1″ standoff base plate. A 2″ minimum side cover is required to obtain the full load. Holes in the bottom of the straps allow for free concrete flow.
