SX1308 2A DC-DC Adjustable Step-Up Power Module (Boost Converter)

When you are building a portable, battery-powered project like running a 12-Volt LED array from a single 3.7-Volt lithium battery or powering a 9-Volt sensor from a standard 5-Volt USB port the SX1308 step-up (boost) converter module is the perfect tiny tool for the job. This miniature board takes a low DC input voltage and uses high-frequency switching technology to boost it to a higher, highly stable output voltage. By simply turning the built-in multi-turn potentiometer, you can precisely dial in your required output anywhere up to 28 Volts.

What makes the SX1308 module particularly impressive is its incredibly small footprint combined with its high current capability. Because the internal SX1308 chip switches at a very fast 1.2 Megahertz, it allows for the use of remarkably small inductors and capacitors, keeping the entire module barely larger than a fingernail. Despite its size, the internal low-resistance MOSFET allows it to handle peak switch currents up to 2 Amps, making it an excellent, space-saving power solution for custom Internet of Things devices, networking gear, and miniature robotics.

Key Features & Functional Advantages

• Ultra-Compact Design: One of the smallest adjustable boost modules available, making it incredibly easy to hide inside tight enclosures and 3D-printed cases.

• Fully Adjustable Output: The onboard precision potentiometer gives you complete control to dial in the exact voltage your downstream components need.

• High-Frequency Efficiency: Operates at a rapid 1.2 MHz switching frequency, allowing the circuit to run at up to 95 percent efficiency with minimal heat generation.

• Wide Input Range: Accepts input voltages as low as 2 Volts, making it highly compatible with single-cell lithium batteries and alkaline battery packs.

• Smart Power Management: Automatically shifts into Pulse Frequency Modulation mode during very light loads to save battery life.

Perfect For

• Battery-Powered IoT Devices: Boosting a standard 3.7-Volt lithium polymer battery up to a steady 5 Volts to power microcontrollers and Wi-Fi modules.

• USB Power Projects: Taking standard 5-Volt USB power and stepping it up to 9 Volts or 12 Volts to run cooling fans, relays, or small motors.

• Custom Sensor Hubs: Providing the necessary higher voltage rails required by specialized gas sensors or analog audio equipment.

• Space-Constrained Electronics: Any DIY project where board space is an absolute premium and bulky power modules will not fit.
